A portfolio has a harder job than the work inside it. A viewer gives it under a minute and is deciding one thing: whether this person can do the specific job in front of them. The sequencing carries that. Strongest and most representative work first, related pieces grouped so a viewer looking for one discipline finds a body of it rather than a single example, and enough context per project to show the reasoning without turning each into a case study.
